The policeman remembered clearly that the corrupt cop had eagerly volunteered to take the case. But not to solve it. He had assigned himself so he could destroy the evidence. That’s the only reason he had the car repainted. And most importantly, that’s exactly why he insisted the vehicle be demolished—he needed to destroy both the car and what was inside.
