Dwayne’s friends reacted quickly. They moved in unison, blocking the bystanders’ path. Their arms spread wide, their feet planted firmly on the ground. “Back off,” one of them said. His tone wasn’t aggressive, but it left no room for argument. The people in front of them stopped, unsure of how to proceed.
