Vet’s Behavior
As the vet continued examining the puppies, his behavior became increasingly odd. He muttered to himself under his breath, his words too faint for Matthew to catch. Every now and then, he would stop, furrow his brow, and seem lost in thought. Matthew watched the vet closely, his unease growing with each passing second. What was the vet seeing that he wasn’t? The situation was becoming more baffling by the moment.
