When Emily answered, Matthew wasted no time explaining the bizarre events of the day. He detailed the vet’s cryptic warnings and the puppies being taken away. At first, Emily hesitated, clearly unsure about getting involved in something so strange. “This sounds insane, Matt,” she said, her voice tinged with doubt. But hearing the desperation in his voice, she finally relented. “Alright, I’ll help—but only because you owe me big time,” she said with a sigh.
