Around the boat, the water churned oddly. “Look at that,” Brendan pointed out. “It’s like the waves are being pushed away.” The boat sat eerily still, unaffected by the current. It gave the impression of being anchored, though no visible chain or rope could be seen. “This thing isn’t just floating,” Brendan added uneasily.
