Luckier Than Expected
When the truck stopped moving, Derek opened his eyes slowly. Surprisingly, he was unharmed. The truck had tipped over, but his seatbelt had kept him secure in place. He had narrowly missed hitting a deer and honestly felt lucky to be alive. Shaking his head to clear the fog, he unbuckled and carefully climbed out of the cab, heart still pounding with adrenaline.
