Luckier Than Expected
Once the truck had come to a halt, Derek opened his eyes. He felt okay, or at least he thought he wasn’t physically harmed. The truck had tipped over, but Derek’s seatbelt had kept him safely in place. I must have been lucky, he thought to himself. He had only just managed to miss the deer crossing the road. Shaking his head, he unbuckled the seatbelt and climb up to exit the cab.
