Joshua nodded slowly. “He’s right, Maddy. We’re in too deep now. Might as well see it through.” Maddy bit her lip, then sighed in resignation. “Fine. But if we end up in some black site prison, I’m blaming both of you.” With trembling hands, Derek reached for the package. The room fell silent as he carefully began to peel back the blue plastic wrapping. As the contents were revealed, all three of them gasped in unison.
