Envelope’s Weight
The envelope was surprisingly heavy for its size. Derek took it from Maddy and turned it over in his hands. There were no markings on it, no sender information—just his name printed neatly on the front. “This can’t be good,” Maddy muttered, crossing her arms. Derek felt the weight of the situation press down on him. The envelope seemed innocuous enough, but in light of everything, it felt like a ticking time bomb.
