The tunnel was dark and narrow, the air thick with the smell of damp earth. Maddy’s flashlight flickered as she led them forward, her breathing ragged. “How far does this go?” she asked, her voice trembling. “It has to lead out somewhere,” Joshua replied, though he sounded just as unsure. Derek glanced over his shoulder, half-expecting to see Solace operatives charging after them. The tunnel seemed endless, each step dragging them further into the unknown.
