The pilot explained how he directed his passengers and crew to board the rafts in an orderly fashion. “We had little time, but we stayed calm,” his voice continued. The recording captured the faint sounds of the ocean and hurried footsteps. “I left this recorder here in case we didn’t make it. Someone needs to know what happened,” the pilot said, his resolve unshaken.
