The logic behind choosing two people was simple. They needed answers quickly, and two sets of eyes would help. However, since the plane remained suspended and unstable, safety limited them to just two people at a time. After a quick draw, it was decided: Rick from the deck crew and Steward Marc would be the ones to explore the interior of the wreckage.
