There was only one way to find answers: lift the plane off the ocean floor and bring it to the surface. The Navy diving robot anchored the cables to secure points on the plane, and then the job was transferred to the crane module on board the ship. The cables were retracted with a pull of the handle, and the plane started lifting upward.
