Mike looked at Brody, the excitement in his eyes giving way to something more serious. “What do you think’s in there?” Brody shrugged, his flashlight already in hand. “Only one way to find out.” They both knew their original hiking plan was done. The trail beyond the cliff could wait. This mysterious opening—this secret—was too big to ignore. So, together, they turned their backs on the trail.
