The machine they leaned against roared to life, and both men felt the cold metal heat up. Within seconds, the metal radiated an intense warmth, instantly scalding anyone foolish enough to touch it. Mike stood close by, but since Brody placed his cheek and ear against the machine, he was scalded instantly.
