Narrow Escape
The creature lunged, its massive form moving with alarming speed. The ranger fired another dart, striking near its neck. It staggered, momentarily disoriented. “It’s working!” a scientist gasped. “Move!” the officer barked. The team scrambled back through the tunnel, their breath ragged as the beast let out a guttural growl behind them.
