It wasn’t a marlin, a swordfish, or anything they’d ever seen before. The creature was small, no longer than Bill’s forearm. Its slimy body glistened under the fading light, and its tentacles squirmed weakly. It resembled a squid, but its shape was off, its texture alien-like. “What is that?” Bill said, his voice tinged with both awe and unease.
