The creature lay motionless, its bizarre form still shimmering faintly under the boat’s light. Its bulbous head merged unnaturally with its elongated body, and the spiked, fin-like appendages along its back twitched periodically. Tiny, lifeless eyes sat on either side of its head, giving it an almost otherworldly stare. “It doesn’t look like anything I’ve ever seen,” Jonathan murmured.
