Opening the main door

The group gathered at the orphanage’s entrance, the outside chill biting at their faces. Judge Dupree’s commanding presence led the way, with Mrs. Collins trailing reluctantly behind. She ordered the orphanage manager to open the front door so they could proceed, and after some convincing, the main key was turned in its lock. Emily and Kevin exchanged a glance but said nothing. As the heavy wooden doors creaked open, they stepped inside as a group.
