Mark was already on it. “I called Wildlife Rescue. They’re on their way. I’m coming too. Just stay in the car.” John stared at the house, every nerve on edge. The attic light flickered once. Then everything went dark. “I’m not going back in there,” he muttered. A few minutes later, headlights appeared. Mark pulled up beside him, eyes wide.
